To all my friends and students at Rolling Bay Clay: Best of everything for the new year and always.! Thank you for your past support. It has been fun to work with all of you.
Ownership of ROLLING BAY CLAY has changed and is now owned by Laura and Kelly. Please welcome this fine couple to the island and show your support for artists and small businesses. Below is bio and contact information:
My name is Laura Cochran married to my high school sweetheart Kelly Cochran and best friend for over 20+ years. My Dad is a self-taught artist from Snohomish, WA and thanks to him I grew up with a drawing utensil in my hand at all times. During my High School and College studies I took all the Science and Art classes I could, because of the love and passion I have for both. I learned you can mix both Science and Art together to create magic.
InknPenDesign was created because of this passion for Art back in April of 2022. I play with acrylic paint, charcoal, watercolor, mixed media fine art and my most recent love, ceramics. For the past 2 years my husband and I have been going to Burkhead Art Studio in Snohomish, WA where we attended back-to-back classes, became studio techs to help with day-to-day tasks, taught and spent countless personal hours on the wheel or hand building. Our mentors at Burkhead have been so kind and wonderful, Melinda Burkhead is the Owner who is amazing, talented and believes in Kelly and me. Kelly and I have talked about opening a studio for a while and finally had an opportunity to grow our business. With all of this said, we decided to start Lost Forest Ceramics.
It is interesting where dreams and paths can lead you. I always knew in my heart that I wanted to open an Art Studio ever since I was a child. I love teaching people of all ages. I worked in the Snohomish School district as a Paraeducator for over 10 years and before that worked in a retirement home with Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents. My heart is full of love for all people from ages 0-120. My plan for the studio is to make a safe place for all people of all ages to gather and create art without judgement. I would love to host local artists’ artwork to sell and open the studio up for local artists to teach their skills. Community is important to me, and I will support it in any way possible. I am proud to become part of this community and can’t wait to see what the future brings.
Sincerely,
Laura & Kelly Cochran
